Richard Allan is a former Pennsylvania Secretary of Conservation and Natural Resources. He was nominated by GovernorTom Corbett on March 23, 2011, and unanimously confirmed by the state senate on June 13, 2011. Allan served until June 13, 2013, when he was asked to resign by Corbett, for use of a racial epithet in an email.[1]
The email exchange, which took place May 3, 2013, was between Allan and his wife Patricia, who was then working at the Department of Environmental Protection. His wife wrote in an email that her co-worker, who is black, was showing her "true colors." Allan answered with a single word, "COLORS," in all caps with exclamation points. After finding out about the exchange, the co-worker filed a complaint.[2]

Richard Mann Allan (June 22, 1923 – September 6, 1999) was an American actor. He was best known for his appearances with Susan Hayward in With a Song in My Heart (1952), Ava Gardner in The Snows of Kilimanjaro (1952), and Marilyn Monroe in Niagara (1953).
Early life
Richard Mann Allan was born on June 22, 1923, in Jacksonville, Illinois, as the youngest child and son of the four children of Edna Mann (1893–1973), a dietitian, and Robert Howard Allan (1895–1958), a farmer.[1] He had two brothers, Edward and Robert Howard Allan Jr. (1922–2009), and a sister, Catherine Allan. Allan attended dancing class from the age of seven.[1]

Richard Beecroft Allan, Baron Allan of Hallam (born 11 February 1966) is a British politician. He was the Liberal DemocratMember of Parliament for Sheffield Hallam from 1997 to 2005.
He was made a life peer in the 2010 Dissolution Honours.[1]
Early life
Allan was born in Sheffield. He went to the independent Oundle School in north-east Northamptonshire. He studied at Pembroke College, Cambridge, and gained a BA in Archaeology and Anthropology in 1988.[2] From Bristol Polytechnic, he gained an MSc in Information Technology in 1990.[2] He was a field archaeologist in Britain, France and the Netherlands in 1984–85, and in Ecuador in 1988–89. He was a computer manager at Avon FHSA in 1991–1997.[2]
