Nive Nielsenová
Nive Nielsenová (* 1979Nuuk) je grónská zpěvačka, hudební skladatelka a herečka.
Hudba
[editovat | editovat zdroj]Hudbě se začala věnovat při studiu politologie na University of Ottawa.[1] Její debutové vystoupení pro královnu Markétu II. bylo vysíláno v dánské televizi, spolupracovala také s americkým skladatelem a producentem Howe Gelbem. Vystupuje jako sólová písničkářka nebo se skupinou Nive and the Deer Children, při zpěvu se doprovází na ukulele.[2] Její hudební styl je ovlivněn folkem, jazzem, rockem, country i inuitskýmfolklórem.[3] Vydala dvě alba: Nive Sings! (2009) a Feet First (2015). Je nositelkou ceny Kronprinspaarets Priser pro nadějné dánské a grónské umělce.
Herectví
[editovat | editovat zdroj]Hrála menší roli ve filmu Nový svět (2005) a v televizním seriálu The Terror (2018) ztvárnila postavu domorodé šamanky Lady Silence.

If you listen and read about the charismatic pop singer Nive Nielsen, who was born in Nuuk, the capital of Greenland, you cannnot but totally be inspired by her! Even the greatest children’s book writers in the world together couldn’t invent her story. In her case at least, the truth is stranger than fiction.
In her childhood Nive was acting in the Hollywood movie ‚The New World‘ starring Colin Farrell and some other child and youth programs for television. But then Nive decided to sing and with her little red ukulele she played her first concert for the Queen of Denmark on national television.
In April 2012 she released her debut album ‚Nive sings‘ on Glitterhouse Records, which was recorded in Montreal, Bristol, San Francisco, Ghent, Tucson and also in Nuuk.

If you listen and read about the charismatic Inuk folk-pop singer Nive Nielsen, who was born in Nuuk, the capital of Greenland, you cannot be anything but amazed. Even the greatest children’s book writer couldn’t invent her story.
In her childhood, Nive acted in the Hollywood movie “The New World” starring Colin Farrell – as well as in other child and youth programs for TV. But then she decided to sing, and with her little red ukulele played her first ever concert for the Queen of Denmark on national television.
She’s got an uncanny ability to tell her own stories, or sometimes just hint at them with her warm, reedy voice. Sometimes she sings out with an old-timey quaver; sometimes she croons in a soft, childlike murmur. The songs themselves are straight out of a storybook that never was. They could be from anywhere, and they are hard to place in time. They are hummable folk tunes on indie steroids performed with her international, very interesting, group of musicians at her side.
