Sidharth Sriram (born 19 May 1990[1]) is an Indian Carnatic musician, music producer, playback singer. He is an R&B songwriter[2] and has been working in the Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Hindi, Marathi and English music industry.[3] He regularly collaborates with his sister Pallavi Sriram, a Bharatanatyam dancer, and music director.[4]

Early life

Sid Sriram was born in Chennai, Tamil Nadu to a Tamil Hindu family. He moved with his parents to California at the age of one, growing up in Fremont. His musical skills were nurtured by his mother, Latha Sriram, a Carnatic music teacher in the San Francisco Bay Area.[5] He started learning Carnatic music since he was 3 years old.

Shriram Alluri is an indie rock musician and songwriter from Hyderabad, India.[2] He currently resides in the United Kingdom.[3]

Alluri was raised in India,[1] hearing local classical music, Bollywood and Tollywood music, and some Western popular music as a child, although he had no exposure to rock until his teens, at which point he began playing guitar.[3][4] He relocated to the UK first as a student[3] and then again in 2015 to record the album Man of Truth at Brighton Electric Studios.[5] Alluri cites The Smiths, Joy Division, David Bowie, The Doves and Nick Cave as influences on his work.[1][6][4]
