Robert C. "Bob" Byram, 83, of 410 E. Greene St., Piqua, died at 12:30 a.m. Wednesday, August 19, 2009, at his residence. He was born April 25, 1926, in Darke County, to the late Howard E. and Marie M. (Strobel) Byram. He married Goldie Topp on November 29, 1947 in New Bremen; she survives. Mr. Byram is also survived by three sons, Tom Byram of Piqua, Ronald Byram of Fargo, North Dakota, and Edward (Linda) Byram of Houston; three grandchildren, Mindy Moon, Amanda Byram, and Brent Byram; two brothers, Jack (Rita) Byram of Bradford, Wayne (Hazel) Byram of Bradford; and two sisters, Ardith (Homer) Teaque of Arcanum, and Barbara McCabe of Homestead, Florida. He was preceded in death by a brother, Gerald Byram; and a sister, June Byram. Bob was a 1944 graduate of Gettysburg High School and served in the Army Air Corps during WWII in the Aleutian Islands. He worked for Frigidaire and retired from Delco Products after 30 years of service. He had also been part owner of the New Bremen Speedway for ten years.
