Biography[]

Prior to Doctor Who[]

As a baby, he made his film debut as the infant Moses (his father played the grown Moses) in the Cecil B. DeMille epic The Ten Commandments.

While in the process of writing Wind River, a romantic adventure novel about 19th-century fur trappers, Heston was convinced by producer Martin Shafer to turn the story into a film script. Discovering that film-writing came naturally for him, 22-year-old Heston wrote his first screenplay, The Mountain Men, for Columbia Pictures, which became the feature film.

Heston served as a Producer on the 1982 film Mother Lode.

Heston's other notable film roles include Alaska and the 1990 version of Treasure Island which cast his father as Long John Silver.

DeMille’s TEN COMMANDMENTS. His father, of course, portrayed the adult Moses, though Fraser has not forgiven him for taking first billing. Fraser wrote his first produced screenplay at 21, THE MOUNTAIN MEN for Columbia pictures. Since then he has written, produced and/or directed numerous feature films, television movies, and documentaries, including MOTHER LODE, starring Charlton Heston and Academy Award winner Kim Basinger (which brought about the founding of his production company, Agamemnon Films, in 1981); THE PROUD MEN for ABC; A MAN FOR ALL SEASONS for TNT, and the critically acclaimed TREASURE ISLAND (a lifelong dream), starring his father and Academy Award winner Christian Bale. Fraser also wrote, produced and directed the Sherlock Holmes film CRUCIFER OF BLOOD for Turner. Fraser directed the Stephen King thriller NEEDFUL THINGS and the family adventure film ALASKA, both for Castle Ro
